as i submerge myself deeper into design, i begin to see the cracks in my own temple. yet i teeter on the edge, between sacred expression and the plain tongue of accessibility. i adore the body font i chose, but even i must squint to decipher its sigils at times. perhaps clarity demands sacrifice, but must it be at the expense of beauty?

well, buttons for mutual followers. if you have one and i haven't added it, gimme a shout 'cause i couldn't find it.
it has been a lifetime since i have scuttled across the web without mercilessly blocking every form of advertising i can. now, when i want to actually allow these obscene images for the sake of creating parodies of them, i am unable to get the damned things to show themselves. i have erected so many layers of wards against their assault that the knowledge of some tucked away apotropaic charm has slipped from my mind.

instead of sleeping, i've gone and drafted blog posts on vulnerability, death, divinity, work, relationships, my mother, ai, and expedition 33. it is incredibly discomfiting, but also deeply satisfying, enlightening, and perhaps therapeutic.

it was an attempt at the "write drunk, edit sober" method and the "write drunk" part went well. the whisky was delicious, perhaps too much so, and i over-indulged. alas, it is now morning and I must take the consequences of my decision out into the world of overwhelming light and noise.

in my approach to my site, there's a constant tug-of-war between aesthetic restraint versus my crow brain screaming "shiny!". every time i vow to keep things simple and clean, i end up hoarding design gimmicks like some digital dragon.
