It's a twofer today for blog posts! The weekly tiara plus the dish I'm "bringing" to the Small Web Potluck.

@skep, hah! No, I have a light box that came with a bunch of colored background inserts and that was one of them.

Perhaps not the pencil journal your mother envisioned, but your whole site is a labor of love. I think there is something daunting too, about paper as a medium. I always felt it demanded a perfection that I never can get past. A few HTML tags though? HTML is a medium that is more accessible and forgiving.

I enjoyed reading this. My mom left behind a few diary entries when she died. We weren’t super close, so it was nice to read her inner thoughts. I don’t really keep a daily diary (boring), but I do spend a lot of time with personal writing. I think a lot about if I share too much (probably yes), but I also don’t want to give anyone the satisfaction of shutting me up on my own website. Lol.

@dicjournal - ❤️ Thank you for the kind compliment about my site! Also, a sheet of blank paper staring at you is just *daunting*. @oopsiedoodle - I'm glad your mom left something written behind. Even if it was just a few entries it at least was something. Also, loved "I also don’t want to give anyone the satisfaction of shutting me up on my own website." 🤣

Ooo lots of good stuff here. I love the kitty postcard, and the star pattern in its fur <3 a web potluck is such a fun idea, might have to check that out!
Those dust storms are impressive. I think in Australia on the east coast we've had one major dust storm in recent years. The photos that came out were pretty impressive. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_Australian_dust_storm

Another Blaugust post - this one about hoping for a happily ever after in my life and learning to be content with whatever may come. Also, 2 new kitties in Kitty Friends!

What a lovely story, thank you so much for sharing it and for the anecdote of the couple in the hospital. I confess I am a romantic as well, and the idea of Baucis and Philemon turning into trees made me cry.

Tiara prices are always lower than I would image. Clearly I have no idea what a good tiara costs. Fun post as usual, I love looking at all these jewels!

The idea of the "less formal" tiara made me laugh. Just a casual tiara for going grocery shopping or whatever

Pluto has always been underrated >.< Have you ever walked outside during Pluto time? I always get a kick out of it! https://science.nasa.gov/dwarf-planets/pluto/plutotime/

One of the things that amazes me is the discovery of exoplanets, and not just a few of them but thousands. We knew that there were likely to be exoplanets out there, but knowing which stars they orbit, etc, is awesome. I didn't think it would be possible to know that back in the 90s. It was just an impossible speculation. Then there is also all the knowledge we've gained about Mars.

@bright-eyes - YES, that's how I feel about Pluto! It was such an implausible idea to think we'd get there one day but we did it! And yes, exoplanets and everything we're discovering about them is super cool. @dicjournal - I had never heard of Pluto time! @rusty-bytes - Justice for Pluto! @worldwideshen - Thanks!
15 is a good mortification age. I cried on a school trip when I was 15 - like properly cried, so much that my contact lens got stuck and one of the parents had to help me fish it out. That one still haunts me!
I’m thinking of the time 20-year-old me walked through Minneapolis with my skirt tucked into my tights. It must have been BLOCKS: out of whichever building I was coming out of, across my college campus, down a busy street past the frat houses, until some kind person told me my entire ass was out for the world to see 😂
