Things that might be fun: abandon Discord, set up some server for Neocities projects (to host IRC and things), bulldoze my site, bulldoze yourself, bulldoze the United States. Let some fresh air into this dead pseudo social network.

The social networking aspects of this platform seem mostly auxiliary. They're well augmented by the main purpose of the site. It has a sorta members club guestbook vibe to me.

i think the reason is that as a social network, neocities is (currently) broken. I do 100% believe in the power of personal websites. But there's an asymmetry: Site authors can express themselves deeply and readers get a very intimate look at someone... but the inverse is not true. So authors (at least me) end up feeling lonely or smth. i have 46,000 hits but it feels like nothing. not like im connecting with someone
