As a rule you want to keep it same tab unless you specify that it's gonna open a new one, personally I just middle click stuff

I also usually middle click images if they have links attached; if an image opens in the same tab I'd prefer that it opens in a popup on the same page; if it's just a link to the image then I'd prefer having it in another tab instead of having to go back in the same tab which is less seamless to me.

mainly bc like saint-images mentioned, middle click exists if you wanna open smth in a new tab, but if something opens in a new tab by default there's not a way to open in the same tab

Animations! CSS animations! You then target each one with "animation-delay" using the child selector (nth-child:) and keep adding seconds to delay them when they pop in! (1s, 1.1s, 1.2s, etc.!)
