I love the blog post so much, I feel the exact same way. Ever since I started to explore the small/peripheral web, I've been trying to tell people how much better of an experience they can have off of the major platforms. A lot of the magic of the old internet is still out there, people just have to dig around for it. I hope we have a resurgence in indie websites as the major platforms continue to drive users away.
im really thankful for your music page. using your page i was able to find the PS3 Photo Album and PS Vita music and download it because wow they are so good.
