I just read that article (the dishrag one) and that checks out with what I experienced when I was in England lol... I had so much anxiety about cleanliness over this and over things. Especially given how small your kitchens are, I can't imagine why you'd keep doing this
Houses tend to be small here. We've had some terribly small kitchens, but not all are like that. As for the rag, while I believe in integrating in the country you move to, this I will refuse to adopt

I can only imagine how gross dishes washed with the rag and tub system would smell lol
