What's so bad about the U.K? Always wanted to live there (London, only).

owlman 9 years ago

I mean, I was partly joking, the UK is a nice place to live what with the NHS, low gun crimes, high minimum wage, you know, the opposite of N America

issedev 9 years ago

Well, Canada looks pretty nice, though. Don't know much about Canada, though.

dear owlman i have a question why is it temporarily relocated to a warehouse in Hull? thank you

owlman 9 years ago

If you look at 98plus' blog page they did the same, so I'm just taking the piss out of them even more

bobzilla 9 years ago

sir i am also quitting how dar u forget me

owlman 9 years ago

Oh yeah, and WizardCat...

[and by "same" I mean that they removed their blog post]

arkmsworld 9 years ago

I'm leaving too. I miss the grey, barren wastes of the modern Web. Its cold, clinical look, everscrolling backgrounds, and sterilized responsiveness are a numbing balm to my withering soul. :)

Tell me, what web browser do you use and why?

owlman 9 years ago

Oh, and what search engine?

joppiesaus 9 years ago

Chromium. The devtools are amazing, isolated tabs, extensions, open sauce & feature rich. Firefox devtools getting better and better though! Google and sometimes duckduckgo... idk why really.

issedev 9 years ago

Chrome, just the first browser that popped up in my mind when I got a new PC and I've stuck with it ever since.

bobzilla 9 years ago

firefox because chrome is a spying piece of shit

hyper1ink 9 years ago

Okay guys, I must know, what is the best web host? Wix, DigitalOcean, Geocities.ws, Weebly? I must know!

headache-booth 9 years ago

ovh, their cheapest plan is cheaper than digitalocean's, and there's (obviously) more flexibility than wix or weebly since it's not just a shitty website builder

joppiesaus 9 years ago

run it on your computer and port forward

invisibleup 9 years ago

Github Pages is nice, because you can use the Jekyll content template thingymadoo. Kind of wish we had something like that here.

The only reason to ever use DigitalOcean is if you're sick of criticism

The only reason to ever use Geocities.ws is just to host music/videos

websitering 9 years ago

Why?

owlman 9 years ago

The long and short of it is that the site is a pain in the arse to use; it keeps on logging you off, the editor is annoying to use, oh and it's not HTTPS

websitering 9 years ago

Ah, thank you. Might it also be ok if they have your old FoutuneCity/GeoCities site archived, and you want to resurrect it?

owlman 9 years ago

I guess if they do have an archive of your old GeoCities site then you may wish to use Geocities.ws, but apart from that I see no point in using it

floppyjay 9 years ago

Some of my old sites used to be based off geocities.ws entirely, even using the default TinyMCE wysiwyg editor to build them. Some of those sites are still online. Fun times. Now, Floppyjay's music and games are hosted on Geocities.ws.....so add games to the list.
