Really great stuff here. I love the theme, and your pixel art is wonderful :)

thank you! I really love your website too, what you managed to do there is mind blowing.

I have probably listened to passport.mid and canyon.mid at least a hundred times debugging MIDI stuff... Happy Halloween :o

I wish MIDI's were supported by HTML again... I really like the Sonata8.wav file.

Implemented a rigorous anti-bigot system at the login screen. Similar logic to shadowbanning. Thought process: Why engage with the bigots, or give them confirmation of what they already know (they are bigots). Instead, banish them to a shadow realm where nothing happens, and nothing will happen. No acknowledgement.

I got .midi playback working, but I'm importing an FM synthesis engine and now these midi files slap way too hard for Windows

OK I GOT OG GM WAVETABLE MIDI PLAYING via gm.sf2. With a little bit of reverb this actually is quite nice. Cheesy, but like a cheese with class. Thats all it ever needed.

Thank you :)

You can now go outside of Windows 99 to a little development blog. It's nothing fancy, but it does have a Guestbook and some screenshots of the development/references/prototypes as well as some technical information and a changelog. https://win99.dev/devblog/

Pretty cool! You could add that as a website on the browser!
