i experience this too but i don't think it's a physical taste it's more like the idea of a taste. i think it's because i have ADHD

I can’t taste music but I can instantly associate it with colors based on melody, sometimes it creates irony bc e.g. you know that I See Red song? I imagine yellow while listening to it
