This collection is over 100 now, I hope to keep adding to it. Collecting these pixel dolls makes me really want to get back into doing pixel art, but then I quickly talk myself out of it because there's nowhere really left on the internet for pixel art.

Twitter is a dying platform that severely compresses and artifacts pixel art. Tumblr is better but still displays art below its minimum dimensions very strangely, especially on mobile devices, which everybody uses instead of desktop PCs.

Redid about and pets to be more low-key and appear in the iframe, removed the tile bg because it felt too overwhelming, I don't know what to do with anything anymore. Doesn't really matter.

The blue tonkinese boy in my "cats" page passed away far too young this morning. I wanted to provide a reminder to REALLY monitor your pets and take changes in their patterns seriously. This may have been treatable, but a horrible coincidence meant nobody picked it up sooner.

His only symptom (reduced eating) arose at the same time we had to switch his food because they discontinued the flavor & brand he liked. It was easy to assume it was just because he hated the new food, so we kept trying different stuff. By the time he stopped eating 100% and we went "oh shit" it was too late. Thousands of $ on tests, IV therapy, antibiotics etc and he still didn't pull through.

Not sure if any of my Neo mutuals follow Joel G's projects, but ENA's new Dream BBQ trailer has been living rent free in my head since it released yesterday. It's just such a masterpiece. When this game gets released, I just know it's going to infect my brain and be all I'll think about for a while.

Neo mutual who does here. I was amazed by the music as usual. The game will be a great experience. The Dream BBQ world feels much warmer and richer than the previos iteration of ENA, so it's gonna be great.

In terms of anime... Widely-loved anime darlings that everyone loves but I think are terrible = Attack on Titan, Welcome to the NHK, Belle (movie). Anime everyone universally hates but that I love with every fiber of my being = Aku no Hana.

I thought the rotoscoping was a bold choice, and the slight ugliness really sells the oppressive atmosphere! The OST is incredible. Totally agree with tojisworld also, even if my issues with Belle run deep it's still a more fitting title.

i'm very curious if hotlinked images count as a "view" because there's no way i have 175k visitors to my site. it's gotta be from hotlinked art i've posted elsewhere getting loaded on someone's browser and counting as a view.

Definitely web crawlers are a part of it, but I didn't even consider hotlinked things potentially counting toward views - it would explain some of these crazy high numbers.

Need to edit page to add a NSFW warning to my Pillowfort link, sorry if I accidentally blasted anyone's eyeballs with NSFW art. PF bills itself as having strong NSFW controls (you can 100% switch off all adult content with a setting, it is set to this by default) but I just learned that this only applies to people with accounts. If you look at a PF page without being logged in/without an account, you see EVERYTHING.

I would prefer it if you could only see 18+ stuff if you are logged in and have enabled the setting so that it's opt-in. But I understand why they didn't design it that way even if I don't like it.

Medium-active. Twitter's acquisition by Musk saw a bunch of people flood back to the site + new sign-ups, and they got something like 170% funding last month which is more than I've ever seen. But it's still small and slow-moving, it's no Tumblr.

I batted for DeviantART for so many years but it's impossible to do anymore. The whole site's an AI art cesspit and the fact that they introduced their own generator (a SD fork trained on DA images, I think) feels like admitting this is the new direction they want the site to go.

I'm not actually opposed to AI art, the part that bothers me is that on DeviantART, AI-generated artwork and handdrawn artwork aren't distinguished from one another, they show up alongside each other. On Pixiv, AI art is considered a different category and if you don't want to see it you can turn it off.

Your art's really nice, especially that style you used for the pagedolls throughout your about section, I'm not sure what it reminds me of... It's kinda pop-anime that you might've seen in old jp magazines in the late 90's early 00's? Very cool.
