Absolutely incredible website. I lost my mind when Half-Life finished installing and actually ran. Half-Life! In my browser!! This is so beautiful; the hours and dedication put in to programming this really show. Thank you for it. I saw you shared an 88x31 button in a reply below that I would love to add to my own site's "cool websites" page in a near-future update.

That makes me incredibly happy to hear, and honestly one of the biggest reasons why it was added in the first place! Little known trivia, the WASM emulation from that Half-Life implementation was so volatile and would always crash when the user closed it, so I just added a BSOD to cover it up. A fake crash covering a real crash :D

Exceptionally well done. With computing power what it is nowadays it's entirely possible to emulate/run the entire legacy OS in the browser

Thank you! It's less about computing power and more about approach: most of it is a methodical recreation in TypeScript/Preact rather than emulation, which is why the footprint stays small (and why you could run this on a pretty old machine with a modern browser). Thank you, but i cant take all the credit. This theme is taken and edited from an old now abandoned website i used to frequent a lot as a kid. You can read about it on the "page source" page via the menu on the top left. I learned from it, build upon it and made it mine :P

Hmmm... I shall check into this! Were you thinking of using this? It would be cool if I could pipe W99 into that Quake server somehow... but also just thinking about future endeavors as I try to move toward multiuser stuff eventually.

I signed up for one, it turns out they make 2FA necessary, so you need to either use their authenticator app (which has poor reviews) or use a FIDO Authenticator usb drive. I'm going the drive option because I think it might be a nice idea to have one, ordered one for $27.

So yea, thinking about using this! I want a bit more control over how I customize my chatrooms and what kinds of features I can implement, and I think this would be a great start to building my own and testing things out without screwing up the anything on the onio forum xD

Had a few people ask about an animated button. Not sure if thats worthwhile or not.
