I'll probably upload AF attacks for me at the end of the month, I am... Very tired lol. My hours will be normaler next week.

I also need to look into a different Javascript gallery because the one I currently use is annoying as fuck... Sigh...

Many, many thanks! My plan is to start dipping into your archives because I'm always looking for new albums to put on at work and I feel lame just picking whatever my streaming service is recommending that week.

For all you dark mode-loving weirdos out there, Skep's Place now has a toggle on the home page. I may not understand you, but I do respect you! Kinda.

On a somewhat related note, you are all my unpaid beta testers today. Ctrl-F5 yadda yadda.

The dark mode will be easier on my eyes when I have a headache, but I like both!

My mom loved these extreme sports games when I was in high school so my family had stacks of them- Dave Mirra would definitely make my "top 10 Tony Hawk competitors that wouldn't seem too out of place on a top Tony Hawk games" list

Hmm, now that's a list idea... no, no, I have too many other things to write already.

Oof 2 games got beaten by demos! I've only ever played a GBA one at which I sucked, but I have over 4 billion hours in ESPN Extreme Games, does that count for anything?

Oh yeah, I just renewed the domain without even thinking about it. Man it's been fun though.

Oh man I skipped over your 1000xResist words because I can't wait to play it soon. My partner and I left HK after the protests, after which I immediately got what is medically termed 'real fucked up' by COVID, so I suspect it may hit quite close to home.

I admit I've had no energy to browse or comment etc. myself, same with other "old school" sites I used to invest in like Dreamwidth :( It's just work, work, work and I also have just wanted to log off more lately.

I also noticed that. Why has it's become little bit harder for us maintain and get started personal web by technology advances? =(

I've been noticing that as well, and figured I accidentally followed a bunch of dead sites or something. Similiar to other comments, I have been also getting increasingly more exhausted by modern internet lately, to the point I feel that I need to tread carefully when exploring. Any more my personal computer is a resource to draw and write, but not connect with others. It's very disheartening.

yeah, personally, it's partially that i've gotten a job at the beginning of the year and thus had less time for ~activities~, but also a bit of burnout mixed in. it is very sad the social media has just made it so much more difficult to actually connect with other people or want to do much of anything, at all... [typo, rip]

When it comes to online, I'm just tired of the atmosphere. I tried to use my Facebook account in my "log off" quest, ran into bots. Tried to make an art blog on Tumblr, my only note currently was a bot reply. Everything is fake and just bloated with this new tech. Even more obscure spaces I used to enjoy I notice act similar to the rumored Russian troll farms from 2016...

I've lost a lot of interest in coding even if I wasn't spending the last year as a workholic due to circumstances. It currently doesn't feel worth investing in when so much of it is the same insanity or surface-level aesthetics as the "bad" mainstream sites. Even if you leave those sites, the behavior carries over since most users online are zoomers and young millennials under 35 who had that as their normal.

I'm not going to leave or delete anything, but I just need to blow off steam and it feels like genuine activity here and other hosts really has dipped in the last year :(

I've definitely felt burnt out, but I'd like to get back into my site! I have ideas for a new layout, it's just a matter of time and inspiration ;_; I definitely agree with you on the atmosphere of being online, too. It's so boring.

Em-dash-loving humans forever. They will never take my em dash away from me. They call me Emily becuause I use dashes as much as Emily Dickinson. And because my name is Emily.

I thoroughly—very much so— enjoyed this post, and makes me want to—as I'm sure it does many—write a blog post—or toot—with em dashes. In fact—I would love to learn the alt code—could you add it—maybe—am I using it correctly—or are there no rules? Have a great—fabulous—day

@fri11s Looks perfect—I really think this will catch on. You see—even the most routine comment looks refined—considered—yet demure. Surely—a new standard is born.

Ooh, I think I've seen an AI model definitely using those a lot, but I didn't know it was a wider thing. Also, I thought it had been trained wrong since there was no space between the words and the em-dash, but that's how it's used correctly in English? In Finnish you're supposed to separate the dashes from the words with a space, apart from some cases like compound words.
skep

Depends! Hyphens always get a space (except for compound words like you mentioned), as do en dashes. No spaces for em dashes is more traditional I believe, but I've seen it both ways so now I'd say it's personal preference!

This is wildly misquoted, but there was an old Roger Ebert review, I think for Spirited Away, that talked about a specific focus/viewpoint making something more universal. Your nonsense is funny *because* it's so specifically yours!
Well in that case, y'all are welcome for enriching you. Also, just saw Spirited Away for the first time like two weeks ago. Figured I've been alive too long not to see the Ghibli films.
(Not counting the time when I was 9 or 10 when my dad picked up Princess Mononoke from Blockbuster figuring "it's a cartoon, the kids will like it" and I ended up scarred)
Telling a friend about Neocities, they responded that "it's charming to see an online community that's dedicated to seeking out each other's cranked unskippable cut scenes."
