Not that I was thinking about using a static site generator, but this is affirming my sense that it's easier to code by hand than use one. Which is wild.
tried a ssg years ago when i first started using neocities, way too much upfront pain for not enough relief afterwards, in my experience. a few spreadsheets codes i've written to autopopulate things and copy + pasting pages has made hand coding the only approach i'll take now

The idea is that USING it will be easy. Initial setup is the pain point (I hope). I would definitely be very selective who I recommended this to.
I want my pain points to be consistently painful throughout.
