I like purple lol. But if anyone has issues changing their #top_banner color use the CSS "background" property instead of "background-color" since the banner by default uses a gradient.

I added an update recently to Chattable that requires your chat to be initialized in order to finish loading. This helps the chat not load until it's received CSS so it doesn't flash with a default theme for a brief moment on other people's site. You can add some CSS or a theme to your chat which would resolve the issue, or you can bypass this by copy pasting my next comment at the bottom of your HTML body

Just realized that you also have 2 elements with the ID "chattable", make sure only the iframe has that ID in order for this to work.

Removed the name tip that appears for new users, added a full tutorial that shows you how to use the chat. It's also in beta though but should roll out soon. Before the website overhaul for sure.

If you see another version of Chattable floating around... no you didn't. I'm redoing the front end to look better, still trying to stay away from prebuilt CSS libs so it's going.. slow. Lol

Ok, a new layout is in beta. If you use the beta version, be aware that features on the help page, dashboard, and more may not work. It should, but I'm not gonna promise anything until it's released from beta.

Added a separate login screen for logging into your account inside your chat. Eventually, this screen will be styleable as well. Chattable setup also just got a bit more strict. In order for your chat to load you MUST initialize it with a theme OR custom css.

I don't think its you lol. I think the CDN is cached. It happens from time to time. Try removing "index.html" from the URL. Example: "https://iframe.chat/embed?chat=000" instead of "https://iframe.chat/embed/index.html?chat=000" and let me know if it works. This same thing happened before last summer smh

anywhoozles, made some adjustments to the "is typing" indicator, added a fullscreen loading screen while loading chats on initial load, a few bug improvements, fixed messages that start with an inline image/embedded image, changed how you view embedded images when they're clicked,

Hold up, I'm genuinely curious about this. How big can a JSON file be? I did not realize you could use them for full databasing like you are.

There's no limit to how big a JSON file can be. JSON databases can become difficult to manage/query efficiently on deeply nested structures, but with a good, simple structure JSON can be very efficient and perfect for database applications.

The entirety of the Chattable database is a 10mb JSON file, hundreds of chats, and hundreds of thousands of messages. Not to mention account & chat data. If you can keep the structure simple, it will work for any project.

Updates: Each chat has a max cap of 100 messages, older messages will auto remove as new messages roll in. Use the download transcript option to preserve conversations if needed. New max cap on owned chats, has been changed from unlimited to 10. If you already own >10 chats they will not be deleted, but you will not be able to create any more until you delete some.
