i'm having a bit of a dilemma at the moment. i recently organized my art gallery by year, which I still want to do but I also want to organize it further by like finished pieces and sketches. however, idk how to implement this without it making it look crowded T-T. does anyone have any suggestions?

hmm... unless u wanna have a year by year of sketches ... or a CSS filter...? kinda like how i have on my food log where it filters out dishes not made by me vs me (finished pieces vs sketches vs all)

The CSS filter idea is best for static sites. You will also need to implement some javascript and metadata to filter out art pieces by whatever data you use.

For example, inside the container that holds "bold-and-brash.webp" you either use "data-x" attributes on the container, or input[type="hidden] inside the container with the metadata of the art piece. You then use javascript to query select all containers, check their metadata contents and filter accordingly with the CSS property display: none to hide from the browser all the images that got filtered out

@zhongive honestly your food log page is what I was thinking of. although I might just have to decide to sort by year or sketch vs fully colored since i'm already using CSS bookmarks

i was reading up on the "writers who don't read books" conversation and that motivated me to pick up dune after procrastinating it for ages. i'm not a Writer (i'm more fulfilled making visual art) but i do WRITE things and it would probably be helpful to read more if i want to talk about my characters. i also forget how fun reading is until i pick up a book lol

I hope uou enjoy Dune!! I also got back into reading after a long hiatus thanks to Dune. I found Dune to be really suprisingly easy to read, but also very fun to pick apart and analyse. Which kind of makes it perfect for getting out of a reading slump. And it's long, which makes it feel like an achievement when you finish reading it lmao

@rabbitnet i love it so far, so immersive! the length of the series did put me off at first but now i'm realising it's just more story for me to enjoy, my mistake was treating it like a chore lol
