a while ago i drafted a blog post about the importance of being bad at things with no shame but um... i need to take my own advice first (by "bad at things" i mean creativity and hobbies etc. not like medical malpractice lmao)
also it turns out neocities does block AI crawlers other than a robots.txt file. settings > sites > your site > AI bots (still not sure if this is a supporters-only feature since i never noticed it before. i literally upgraded a few mins ago)

i think neocities might need more protection around genAI scraping aside from a robots.txt file because any bot can get past it if they really wanted to. even though i accepted that my stuff will get scraped eventually, it would still be pretty cool to not have that happen no matter how bad i think my art is

what's your guys fav domain? i'm stuck between .art or .uk. the latter isn't that appealing to me because where i live doesn't influence my site that much, and the former makes me look like an art institution lol

No amount of skill or talent makes up for the fact that talents you don't have or need still cost you. Either we can all freely collaborate and give 100% of ourselves to one another on a daily basis, or people who want to spin up a game company as a solo artist are going to outsource paid labor to tools that can fill the gap. Love yourself, don't let yourself be outcompeted with shame either. These tools are free too
