i was reading up on the "writers who don't read books" conversation and that motivated me to pick up dune after procrastinating it for ages. i'm not a Writer (i'm more fulfilled making visual art) but i do WRITE things and it would probably be helpful to read more if i want to talk about my characters. i also forget how fun reading is until i pick up a book lol
i've been reading serj tankian's memoir "down with the system" in my school free time and that's great too!!! i didn't expect a non-fiction book to get me back into reading
this is probably why i can't think of a plot for the life of me because i haven't sat down and enjoyed a good book since early high school. this also comes with my fear of changing things up too much as once i have a solid idea for an art project it feels like a sort of affront to whatever God inside my head if i decide to change up the concept, even though i will never get better if i stick with one thing forever
I hope uou enjoy Dune!! I also got back into reading after a long hiatus thanks to Dune. I found Dune to be really suprisingly easy to read, but also very fun to pick apart and analyse. Which kind of makes it perfect for getting out of a reading slump. And it's long, which makes it feel like an achievement when you finish reading it lmao
