Switching the site to "light mode". I feel this more default look is nice. Please let me know what you think.

You could use JS to implement a switch on the page and store it locally for the user, then they can decide which they use.

non-js alternative is the css @media (prefers-color-scheme: light) {} which checks the user's system setting

Thanks so much! Once I get this zine finished (and that depends on when this covid gets finished...) I plan on putting it up. I'm also interested in starting a physical collection of other people's zines for trade as well.

love this! I was going to comment something similiar — part of my attraction to the slow web is that I don't have to focus on what would get maximum views if I don't want to. Good writing should always keep audience and context top-of-mind, but at the heart of great writing is authentic self-expression. That's the sort of stuff that sticks with people, as opposed to something they "like", scroll past and forget.

thanks for the follow! I like your piece on picky eating; it's interesting to see someone cover the topic in a way completely different than I would (I'm working on a list-guide of sorts, but I've not been much of a creative writer). Are you a bookbinder too? If not, Japanese stab-bound books are very beautiful and accessible to beginners.

Thanks so much! Yes, I am a bookbinder. I have done some Japanese stab stitch and it is a really nice book form. I have done a number of different formats and maybe, maybe will put some pics of some of my books on my site. :)

for the longest time, I have thought that maybe I don't want 3-letter agencies to know what I think. but this is coming from a position of fear, if one person has a controversial opinion they can be silenced, but a whole part of the country? I think the problem is more fundamental, ppl unwilling to take a stance, because of that evil will win
