Oh man I skipped over your 1000xResist words because I can't wait to play it soon. My partner and I left HK after the protests, after which I immediately got what is medically termed 'real fucked up' by COVID, so I suspect it may hit quite close to home.

Took a long time but I've finaly got the site redone and where I like it, now to just keep updating it!
Things I've learned from working on creative projects for a long time: If you're very passionate about a project, consider working on it less! You need breaks to keep the joy and not take it too seriously, to be able to keep up in the long term. And you'll know better what to do and have better critique for your own stuff if you're away from it, get some space to think, and come back with fresh eyes.

This is mostly for people who tend to become obsessed with being productive, and think it will give better results (in my experience it can give _more_ results, but not necessarily better. Quality or quantity?)

My way to get around this and still be productive is to work on different projects at different times, so that I'm constantly on a break from the rest of the projects. Can't wait to see what the drawbacks from this method are in a few years...
Things I've learned from working on creative projects for a long time: Don't try to solve everything right now, with all your brain power, just because you want results! There's less frustration in figuring stuff out in the back of your head and letting it take time. Sleep on it, wait for the answer, and when it hits - that's when you stop procrastinating. This gets much easier with experience.

i'm thinking about getting hello kitty island adventure on steam while it's on sale but i can't bring myself to spend 30 euro on a mobile port
Hey, I was that 10-year-old kid who climbed into that cockpit cabinet (in '89, actually)! Superlatives can scarcely express how thrilling that classic was in the '80s and early '90s, and I'm impressed by how well it's aged. Thanks for reminding me of "Balance of Power," which I should finally play....
@howsoonisnow, TBH it doesn't really feel that mobile-y since doesn't have any microtransactions, howeeever you can really tell it's from a subscription-based service since basically all content is time-gated. I've been playing for more than one month straight and I'm still not done with it, but recently I really only play it during my lunch break since it's becoming really repetitive.
Maybe you can try it out using Steam's 2hr refund window? In my case it was a gift but like you I was also eyeing it for a while before, the game is cute and has tons of content but it's def no ACNH so yeah the price is a bit steep
@rbuchanan, lucky! I only played it on the upright cabinet and it was still awesome, the sound on the cockpit must've been out of this world
