Sad news, folks — Neocities has been fun, and you’re all wonderful, wonderful people, but at some point in the near future, i’ll likely be jumping ship to a “real” hosting provider.

My reasoning is relatively simple — Neocities’ built-in community features are wonderful, and no doubt drive most of the traffic to my website, but it is slowly killing me not to have any way of meaningful interaction on the site itself (and that making posts on the blog is such a faff). I want real, actual comments and forms, no substitutes accepted, gosh darn it!

I’ll probably maintain a little "portal" redirecting to any new stuff, just so that it still shows up on people's feeds

I've definitely been annoyed at the lack of dynamic content features - especially since I could actually get a server with them for cheaper - so I can emphasise with such a move. But I would only actually only pull the plug when you've sure you've got the audience to sustain it.

The updates to the words page should hopefully be invisible at first sight on a computer or phone — but when you try printing it out on paper, it now prints out the URL targets of links!

Fixed a frankly embarrassing bug where the bilingual parts of the index page didn't show up properly on Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Vivaldi, Brave). Whoops!

Added a Badge Of Shame to non-mobile-friendly sites, although the degree of unfriendliness ranges from "it literally doesn't work at all" to "the text is slightly smaller than it should be"
