OMG. gracias por agregar mi botón a tu sitio. recientemente leí tu entrada «extraño un poco no tener internet» y me sentí bastante identificada, incluso me puse un poco sentimental. en casa tampoco teníamos un servicio de internet, y los ciber fueron gran parte de mi infancia y adolescencia. me dolió un poco ver cómo los ciber que recurría desaparecieron a raíz de la pandemia. fueron muy buenos tiempos. ♡♡♡

Yo por donde vivo todavia hay cibers que ya no son tan frecuentados pero que en su epoca eran visitados por gente queriendo jugar counter strike, half-life, lol, o need 4 speed jajajs que tiempos, el unico ciber que se que ya no existe es al que yo iba antes de mudarme.

update on the ai situation - there's this text file that prevents bots from scraping your site's data. if the bot hidden in the source of the code editor happens to be a fork of any openai bots, this will stop it. place it in the root of your folder structure, and take a look at the additional bots you can block. https://github.com/DynTylluan/owly.fans/blob/main/robots.txt

Just for confirmation cuz I'm still kinda confused. The creator of the website made a weird blog post about AI saying some really disagreeable things. The code editor also has some use of AI that we don't know exactly what's it used for?

@the-game-hoard the blog post was about a year ago. the ai in the code editor was a leftover "april fools" joke but it's still in the source of the editor. a cohost user a while ago emailed kyle about the situation and how they don't want it to be a permanent feature. it's supposedly "turned off" but no one is certain. https://cohost.org/nicky/post/5665868-damn-i-should-be-sen

@bloodgulch it is super sketch, but considering you have to dig deep to even find it + the little evidence out there that proves it's actually in use, i wouldn't worry a whole lot about it. there's also the question of does neocities even make enough funds to support a functional chatbot? until it's up in my face begging for me to use it, i'll be staying. i made a mirror to have multiple backups anyway.

@transferns supposedly it's in the code editor, but there's no settings (or real mention besides "enable code suggestions") to turn it off. i'm going this off of "rumor as it" and not gospel.
