I've been thinking about this for a while, and I gotta ask: the obesk aren't as expressive as humans face-wise, but how about their eyes? Do their pupils or look change as their mood shifts, similar to how their horn-like receptors curl or move around? Just a little thing I'm curious about lol

i am too stubborn to answer lore questions outright nina, forgive me 🤭 but the portrayal of humans within memories so far may answer this question in an indirect way

Aye, games with heavy environmental worldbuilding and implied lore that the game encourages you to seek out and form the connections are always very enticing to me. The intriguing unanswered questions of just what was going on from the first moments of the game was the hook that never let go, hah.

your post resonates with me - i once started waking up at 3AM for weeks to spend hours working undisturbed, to the detriment of everything else, on a project that ended up being way too ambitious for me and was never even shared... this is a torment mirrored across the journey of many artists: "the big one", the "thing you're supposed to make" that screams in the back of your head when you aren't working on it

it is a hard lesson to learn that there isn't really anything you're "supposed to make," there are only 'things you make', and sometimes they turn out really great and connect with people. and if a project doesn't work out, the worlds and characters still never really leave you - if/when you feel like it, you can always return to iterate on them! (there were so many corru iterations...)

It's relieving to hear that I was not the only one. As I said, I am still fond of the characters that came out of this, so they aren't going anywhere for now

it's nice, but also kinda sad - i was soo into that game, seeing it in permanent maintenance mode is like watching it decay (but at least people can still experience it for the first time!)

oh, thanks! Spiral knights has to have been my single greatest influence over me, was so into it as a child, even though I didnt get far. I was in a period of playing it more seriously when I made that webtool. Got tired of the grind eventually. We could play it though, sometime, that would be neat!

Guess who's thinking about a website rework? This guy! I want to make it more of a meandering space that is explored like a physical one... however I do not want to rely too heavily on a composition of images for the whole site, as it can be hard on mobile users (and on me, if I try to make it mobile-accessible) and others. A text-based one then? But I would not want to seem derivative... ah, the possibilities!
