@miela583 Centipede's always been my favourite of those early Atari arcade games by far, felt like just one more step closer in the development of the genre to the vertically scrolling shoot-em-ups of the 90s I love, plus the trackball control feels so good

I’m not sure if you mean they were criticising the book or featuring it as satire. I’ve been reading it and thinking that it is in part a satire of Trumpism. So it has an interesting historical background and contemporary relevance. It also includes Charles Dickens, an author I’ve always enjoyed, and other famous authors as characters. I’m enjoying it!

I have now read it and their chief complaint was that she's using the past merely as a way to explore the modern themes that interest her, rather than showing an interest in the past for what it is/was. Also what you said in your review, i.e. it's a bit scattered. Mind you, this is not exactly scathing. Zadie Smith is generally well-loved. I've got something by her in the house, although I haven't read it yet.

The lack of character options are a massive disappointment tbh since I'm one of those "never play as the human" types of RPG players but I can't lie and say that the isometric pixelart graphics recreating a fully 3D game charm the heck out of me, it's part of why I love the GBA Spyro games (well, Season of Flame and Attack of the Rhynocs anyway)
It's just even more strange considering the Elf character from the console game is on the bloody cover! Just weird. I think I had one of the Spyro GBA games as a kid (Season of Flame sounds right!) but yeah I've seen videos on the Spyro/Crash crossover games and those look... well, at least they're short.
