hii ive just noticed you followed me! I love your art so much, especially the ghosts!!! I didn't realise how much consideration went into the lineart until I watched the speed paint, it looks so natural? if that's the word? :]]

hi! im very happy to hear you like the ghosts, ive been having fun drawing them and trying to make them a story. i appreciate what you said about my lines, i struggle with making lineart cos i have this thing when i feel my sketches look better than my lineart, and so, to overcome this i have been trying extra carefully making them. Just in case, doing vector lineart would be the better option, less of a headache!

sucks that its a headache to do the lineart, but it definitely pays off! id love to see any story for the ghosts if you end up adding it to your site

Remade them, and working on more! I’ll update the page later with all the improved and new sprites. Also not sure if anyone would want the frames separated and the gifs in their original (very small) sizes? If there are any other HERO_SWORD fans out there lmk

This might be the last update for a while as burn-out is kicking in again. The problem with reviewing Mega Drive games is that they often take just a couple of hours to play through and then I spent an entire day or two writing and coding the review page which gets exhausting fast ahaha. See you all when inspiration next hits!

@cartridgeconfidential I'm intending to play through the entire series for Overclockworked up to Shinobi X and I'm really excited to get to that one. The cutscenes are so fun, I don't even consider them "so bad they're good", they're just fun.

Also yes, playing the entire series up to Shinobi X also includes the weird Master System exclusive titles, Alex Kidd in Shinobi World, the Game Gear Shinobi games, and hell, probably also the Amiga conversions. Ninjas are cool, they're worth it.

I feel like I know so much about Joe Mushashi now. Also unsolicitied advice: I had a go with some of your gifs and if you're willing to sacrifice a little quality, the easiest reduction was to half the size on ezgif and then optimise (use the default setting but bump it up to 50) and they go from 6mb to 1mb. Then we can enjoy 6x more of your gifs!

@p7uen If I can have the gifs be 50% size but then get scaled up by the html code on the website, that would likely work! I'll have to try it out later

"your personal website is too boring" discourse pisses me off because nobody here makes a site solely for another person's enjoyment, doesn't that defeat the whole point of the indieweb. don't know where we got this mindset that things are only valid if they stimulate your eye holes

I find that this is similar to when an artist online feels forced to go with what is trendy in able to be seen/game the an algorithm. Sites should be made for fun and should be creative freedom! thats the whole reason on why I stopped using social media so much. I felt like I was trying to to please others, which made me feel less happy with what I made.
