Did you know? Chattable used to run without a backend. From 2021-2023 Chattable ran fully in client side JS and Firebase, hosted fully on Neocities!

Isn't that odd to even say? Firebase IS a BACKEND. Backend as a paid service. You should obviously do that yourself instead of paying for it. Good luck and best wishes!

No, Firebase offers a backend as a service (like cloud computing), but I didn't use those services. I used the realtime database which used client side logic to store, retrieve, and validate data. A database is not an backend. Also, at the time it was using the free tier.

Clearly I know nothing of backend. I wish I knew some at least. I'm not sure what point is a good time to start reading that book. It's a thick one but, after learning one language, the skill should be transferrable... I hope. Pray for me.

1. Reduced plant images from a total of 7.5mb to roughly 170kb, front page should load a little faster now! 2. Added confirm for plant selling, plants have resale value, and plant watering garners a number of points equivalent to the plant's level!

Buying a plant now announces it in chat. Sell button now shows how many points you'll receive for selling it. Sale value increases with leveling. Plant sales are shown in chat.

In the few years I've gone by "ibuuprofen", I've strayed far from the simplicity that username was meant to carry. It was inevitable considering how I began designing my "brand" from the time I was a child. Kind of sad, really.

Lil plant update.. I added two plants and you can now buy multiple copies of the same plant. Unfortunately, ur previously purchased plants will/may not save, but this reset should be a one time thing. Make sure to refresh! If you see the monstera and palm plants in shop, you're on the current update!

to clarify, any earned points and purchased wallpapers are still saved. This update affects only decorative plants.

I think I'm pretty happy with my front page layout and button now. It looks rather cute and coordinated. Some assets I had planned to swap out for my own art but I'm attatched now. The tab icon and window are my own, but the mailbox is from gifcities, the letter from pixabay or something, and the cursor from rw graphics.
