It's cool you're getting into gopherspace! Have you come across gemini protocol before? It is similar in style, created more recently tho. Theres terminal clients available for it too

That gopher hole is pretty fun to fall int., enjoy it! As discopotato said, look into Gemini protocol too. It's inspired by gopher, modernized to use TLS for privacy/security and support for linking documents together :-) https://geminiprotocol.net/

how lovely to read about your travels! side note, air becomes thinner at higher elevations; if you're not used to that sort of mountainous atmosphere, it's very common to experience extra windedness or other side effects. my mom gets headaches up high and i'm glad that your side effects were relatively mild !

I think much of what you have to say is very interesting, and often hits the (proverbial) nail on the (proverbial) head. Among that which I despise, about generative 'AI', is that it is not artificial intelligence at all. These grifters have commandeered a phrase that they're product is devoid of, and thus made the phrase itself devoid. I have long been interested in real independent non-organic intelligence, but

For this reason, I suggest pushing back against their premise of 'AI' and carving out a more accurate term, though I'm yet to find anything that properly suits, myself. Hey, really appreciate you taking the time to comment. I agree, the term AI is misleading as it conjures images of things like SHODAN and the like, which we wouldn't even be in the same universe as with their current construction. yo, anyone got any idea to do about some shithead claiming to have completely clone your website with AI? had some dickhead say it in my guestbook but he didn't show any evidence of it so I suspect he's just ragebaiting (he's also got enough of a functioning brainstem enough to use a VPN it looks like but idk)

sounds like ragebait for sure because like... clone how? stealing aesthetic? copying code? you don't need AI to do either of those tbh.
