I selfhost everything (tbfmy site isn't hosted on Neocites so I have room), but I compress my art using Caesium Image Compressor at 80% quality and then convert it to webp. This helps tremendously! With large painting, I don't notice much difference in visual fidelity even if I'm zoomed in

sighs i might just have to look into webp for hosting my full art pieces, most of the ones i post online are jpeg'd and 80% quality for social media sharing, but my older stuff isnt

Reading your thoughts on having a sona was interesting. I love that Sylvie is the mascot of your site btw, I love her haha. My sona Clover isn't like my other OCs in that she is grounded in her lore, has a character arc, etc. She's really just a mascot. She's a representation of me but not wholly, and she's also her own thing. It's hard to explain. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!.

to be fair, reading about Clover was what actually inspired me to think about the whole sona thing :P and what made me wanna go design Fluffy in the first place! though the concept of a sona has been something i've been thinking about on and off for months, it was just the nudge i needed

yeah, i am very tired as well of it :( it does at least look nice in terms of having communities for posting things you are interested in, but i’ll see how i feel about it as i use it

yeah i might still end up making a bear blog to just cross post my longer yapping on my blog; i wanna keep my blog to one page and not need to make a bunch of subpages, but i also wanna have a permanent link to those somewhere so … that would be the best for my usage 🤔

long drag of cigarette as bluesky is adding in regulations for no 'non-con' artwork + a plethora of other things. we're getting to the era where everyone has to draw/write characters literally saying 'i consent' huh. it aint my cup of tea, but it's like watching a hanging guillotine over all creative people

I DIDNT LMAOO i'm not into BTS personally (my friend dragged me more into girl kpop groups), i hope whoever did lose him manages to get him back, or he gets to a nice home
carrds may not be a website that's handcoded from scratch but i wont lie i still have fun plopping sections together and doing funky stuff with it (context is i have a custom carrd comm and im excited to be able to design for them again)
