Also I know the page is named ''mangas'' even though there's not a single manga showcased there 😭

Hello neocitizens, I have a question (again). I noticed that a lot of people on neocities use a googlefonts link when it comes to custom fonts, and not the otf/ttf font file, is this just a preference? Asking cuz I started using custom fonts for my website (not yet public) and I actually downloaded the otf/ttf files, I just wanna know if there's a reason why I rarely see people do the same

I went with Google fonts because I was having too many headaches trying to get otf/tff files to work consistently across browsers. Some of them just seemed to hate Firefox, Chrome, Edge or all three no matter what I did! I think it is just a matter of preference though.

same with kuupzone I use Google fonts because it's easy and I'm lazy. some people prefer the font file because it means you're in better control of how everything looks. externally hosting fonts means if Google takes down that font or moves it or renames it, it no longer works on your site. I don't know how often Google does that but I can see the value of keeping everything on your site in your site.

(not that kuupzone is lazy they did way more work and headaches than I did!)

Possibly for the reasons above! For me personally, I also use custom fonts for my site, I just like the control better and placing my font files my self.
