Nice, good luck on your course work. If you need help with any math courses (namely MAC1105, which is required for everyone), I can help.
Thank you!! I’m glad you’ve found it useful so far. The 2003 anime uses early manga plot points and changes things about them to create a darker more philosophical and morality themed story. It's not an adaptation striving for accuracy. The manga is more fun shounen and 2003 is an exploration of the characters, their morals and their emotions. I'd love to say more but the neocities replies can only be so long lmao
I didn't dislike Gatsby as a character, and cheesy or not (I watch anime) there were a few good lines like Daisy's voice sounding like money and you know the last passages. Anyhow it's just a short novel to read in an evening, more of a mood piece than anything. What did you think of the movie? And I would like to see you write some posts about Ayn Rand.
There are two movies. I have only seen the 2013 one. In short: decent acting, good effects (except for that one green screen moment), but royally screwed over by the soundtrack, it sounded like Boyz N the Hood, but in the 1920s. I had heard the opposite for the other movie. I may consider having a movie review. Also, my review is incomplete and has taken me several days to think of how to write my basic feelings.
That said, I believe the book does get better near the end, but it does not make up for the rest of the story and the problems I had with it. The final quote, admittedly is one of the best pieces of English writing I have read. This leads me to getting more annoyed at it than say, Twilight (alright, that is a bad example, but I hate Twilight for a completely different set of reasons than Gatsby).
Just finished the Gatsby review, finally I can get some rest. Now to finish the manga reviews!
Nice. Seems like you have to use a VPN these days at least in Europe. Probably cause of GDPR compliance. Annoying.
I see. I live in the U.S so do not have these regulations, but they definitely have wanted to impose similar regulations over here. I was wanting to set up a Yandex or Baidu E-mail account, but internet providers are starting ban any non-North American/E.U websites.
I always put off reading Notes from the Underground because it sounds so depressing.
It is worth the read, Otaking. However, I will agree it is quite depressing, as is a reasonable amount of what I read: Dostoevesky, Dickens and Lermontov are among my favorites, but I will cover some happier works too. I have amassed quite a library as of late and I need to go through everything. Right now, I am mainly reading manga, currently it is Astro Boy Omnibus 1.
Also, please do not mind my comment on Fitzgerald, I do not mind him as a writer, just his most famous work I disappointing to say the least.
ive heard of it but never seen it! and thank you!! ^^
You are welcome.
