What happened to Volk? (Sometimes my Russian fails me, I might as well ask in both languages, though).)
Quite a few people I followed for a long time recently deleted their sites it seems ;_;
ive seen a lot of extremism. maybe kyle drake took it down??? idk. i didnt know volk
IDK but I'm kind of (more than kind of, actually) disappointed to see his site go. One of my faves around, TBH. Hope he's alright.
what? Volk is gone? that might explain a change in my follower count, wtf man, I loved the site. =(
@Paintkiller @enflicted I know, I was surprised. My guess is that he had bigger projects. Like what Paintkult was. He might E-Mail me, but I do not know his whereabouts (I have not checked my E-Mail today, though..
Thank you. Have you seen Xi Xing Ji, it is a reimagining of Journey to the West. You might be interested, that it, if you are fine with watching some CGI (which is pretty good).
I have NOT seen it...but omg, I totally should! I love JTTW (as is probably evident by the site title, lol), and any sort of iterations of it. Thank you for the recommendation, I'll check it out!
I swear, i just posted about Limp Bizkit lastnight. Honestly most bands from that era are better than most mainstream. Today's music is souless in my opinion.
I was just gonna say - @ENFLICTED just posted about Limp Bizkit! LOL. Wes is incredibly talented, no lies. The whole band is/was, we just live in a different era now. That sound will take some coming back around to for most. Give it a few years. It'll happen. That said, there's no shortage of incredible underground - by yesteryears or todays standard - and I'm happy to offer suggestions. Always.
@paintkiller I dunno man, Fred Durst had such a unique sound, he had such a talent for bringing hip hop style lyrics to metal, and he pulled it off so well. Then again, ZZ Top changed minds when they came around old style blues and rocked out.
@ENFLICTED no arguments on Durst being talented and groundbreaking! There's still Nu Metal being made, I'm just saying I don't think it'll catch on like wildfire again for a while yet. I was listening to Prong the other day - def Nu Metal flavors in there, also "dated". Every happens in cycles. In a few years we'll be discussing the NEW Nu Metal bands, watch!
Nu-Metal is back, I think. Everywhere I go, I seem to hear Linkin Park, Slipknot and even Trapt (yes, I know about the controversy). Frankly , I will take it over whoever is popular these days (is NSYNC still popular?).
If Nu Metal is back, I haven't heard it. But then again, I rarely listen to radio, or anything alike, the only thing that plays around here, is awful mumble rap, and r&b. I've honestly moved on from Nu Metal, MetalCore all the way. \m/
I don't wanna be that guy, but that song was awful, not the Limp Bizkit I knew =(
@enflicted I know, the album varies in quality, but it is just proof that Limp Bizkit (and others) are still around.
I am doing alright, just my studies have returned, so I have devoted quite a bit of time taking care of that. How are you doing as of late?
Good deal. I presumed as much, but thought I'd holler regardless since ya crossed my mind. Good juju on studies moving forward. Things here are well enough to not warrant complaining about!
At the time Osomatsu-san seasons 1 and 2 were airing I maintained a sub because I was absolutely adamant about watching the simulcast, watching the ep more or less along with the time it was airing in Japan and being able to talk about it on cross-region forums. That was back in 2015 and 2017, since then it looks like CR hasn't obtained the rights to a lot of other big name simulcasts.
