people with art galleries on their sites... how do you organize your image folders? i'm trying to decide if i want to do it by series or by year or a mix of both... i'm not sure what makes the most sense or would be most convenient... HMMMMM
I put them all in one folder, name them by date (yyyy-mm-dd), then use a Python script to build the gallery page, sorting by date in reverse order so the newest works go first. If it gets too big, then I make a folder for thumbnails and do the same thing, linking the thumbnails to the full images when building the page with the script.
I tend to go either e.g./art/img/2025/MMDDtitle.jpg for general various works or e.g. /art/img/2025/souiumono/MMDDtitle.png for art that fits into a specific category subject-wise.
I go by year because thatβs how itβs set up on my site

i shove it all in one folder lol. convenient but maybe not that future-proof. id do it by year though
mine is sorted by year & then month because I draw so much....

By year for me then I just rename the file to the specific date
I do by series but you also have a way higher drawing output than me.... Doing both sounds inconvenient though X_X
i also did it by year, mostly since my gallery is sorted by year in the first place
