I second this, though I do understand if it takes a while because writing descriptions for sites is more difficult than it seems, especially with some of the sites here on Neocities lol

bikobatanari and billsworld are correct though, writing descriptions definitely slows down my process a lot so people self describing their sites does help the process speed up. ultimately i'm one person who has to look through every site, check that there's nothing inappropriate, write the description, figure out a district, then actually put them on the page. it's a lot!!

which i don't really mind! but i just wanted to clarify why i'm a little slow- especially when i don't really have any kind of expertise outside of tokyo, arles and petsburg!!

Awesome! Your efforts are appreciated and there's no hurry! Districts is a wonderful resource. If it helps, I'd suggest my site fits within either Silver Lake or Arcadia.

update: i also added descs for almost every purgatory site and added 1 site. i'm not entirely finished and didn't really focus much on new stuff, but hopefully it looks a lot less incomplete now!

update update: added 5 more sites to arcadia from my backlog. might add a few more throughout today, we'll see
after a lot of thinking, i think i'm gonna revise two rules that this site has had since it was fully a thing. first of all, i think i'm getting rid of the two district ban. thank bogleech for that- i realized how arbitrary it was when trying to decide where they should go.

i also am gonna start adding descriptions to purgatory sites. they probably won't be as polished as they could be for more specialised sites, but i think that purgatory has been need of that for a while since it looks incomplete. it's something i just carried over from tradition, but i wanna do y'all purgatory sites more justice

on that note, i'll probably miss a lot of districts that warrant more than 2 districts- ultimately, there's a lot of sites and it's been a while since i looked at some of these sites. feel free to suggest extra districts for sites!

Petsburgh was added to GeoCities in 1998 after it was aquired by Yahoo. Prior to that the pet theme was incorporated in the Heartland neighborhood. Therefore it never appeared in this format before and I had to create a page for it entirely from scratch!

OK... 17 placeholder neighborhood pages down, 20 to go... Once each neighborhood page is in place then one by one each neighborhood must be fleshed out with the subpages needed so they can be actually populated someday... the surface has been offically scratched!

Additional: I have started work on a few of the districts... You can sort of see what I am aiming for by looking at Area 51 and Athens. Only the main page of those districts has anything on them... I haven't set up any real site listings in the residential or commercial districts or made any join form pages, yet.

Cont. What I would really love to have is community leaders in charge of each district, with each district as a seperate site like Area 51 is and under the community leaders' control. That may be wishing for too much, however... anyway that is the goal. I am lazy and will work on this slowly as the mood strikes. Cheers.

to respond to billsworld, i don't think that ufo/cryptology/ect counts as hollywood either but........i don't actually think i've seen any sites like that? feel free to correct me, but as far as i'm aware it's usually either art (which falls fine into arles) or media-based. i'd love to be proven wrong though!
the delete button *is* right next to the comment section and doesn't seem to give you a prompt to make sure you want to delete it, which is just bad UX really

I see what you are going for with the districts... stuff that seems to be popular on neocities but there are a couple of conspiracy sites out there... I haven't bothered to look but I would be surprised if there aren't any paranormal and ufo/alien sites lurking out there too...
