Okay, wow, gonna need to find time to go through the backlog of your essays. For now, I love the observation that the theory and practice of writing are basically touching. And the idea of gleeful misinterpretation of the masters being beautiful as long as it's meaningful to you in the moment. I relate a lot to your 2023 letter, too, especially the bits about fearing rigidity at the heart of organizational systems.

Thanks for the comment and sorry for my late reply! I feel like my whole experience engaging in art and literature has consisted of nothing but misinterpretation. This isn't exactly gleeful, as I'd like to eventually at least be aware of what others consider to be the "correct" interpretations. It's hard for me to avoid misinterpretation though, so I'm resigned to embracing it.

Catching up on poems after being busy for a while. "Open" is *such* a good encapsulation of that feeling, and I love the sounds in it. Very clattery poem. Very stiff. Wondering if final notes on a symphony is TMA-inspired or if it's just in the air these days. Enjoying seeing all the enthused pen-talk, too, as an outsider. :p

Love the little play on your splash page. There's something so earnest and seasoned about the way you combine pictures and text, in the site and the zines. Fun to read about the motivations behind muse ariadne. Seeing a lot of loneliness & communion themes, bridging gaps, in the writings about writing. Also, LOVE your poems.

Hey! Love your site and the cozy clutter. It's so joyful to see you having fun with it. If you still wanna do the cursor stuff, the CSS you want (on the html tag) is something like html { cursor: url("whatever.png") 0 0, auto; padding: 0; margin-bottom: 0; }

Oh, good, I'm so glad you also remember freewebs fondly. I know the whole thing on here is geocities nostalgia, but freewebs was the first silly little home on the web for me and a lot of my friends! haha

Yeah, I have some fond memories building freeweb sites with school friends. As you say, Geocities gets all the love but freewebs seems to have been mostly forgotten.

Just a few bookbug updates today. Also added a link to Giovanni's Room via Internet Archive that you can check out for an hour at a time because the wait at all four of my libraries was insane, and the audiobook wasn't doing it for me.
