@cargopusher yeah idk i got hit by a horsifying beam a few months ago and since then. horse horse horse. and @plushspace it should be enough to make it clear the website is horsed. so. pretty much a lot? i'll start with getting a redraw of my fursoner that greets people on the main page cause, well. she got horsed along with me obviously

ok so i think i fixed the exploding ticket (can people confirm?) but now the problem is it uses embedded noto sans/serif, which are whopping 20MB combined... anyone knows a slightly less painful websafe japanese font in serif and sans-serif *with bold burned into the font*? the reason it was exploding is font-weight: bold CSS works differently on mac, windows and linux

the Haru Urara betting ticket (https://auberylis.moe/mip/haru/ticketget) appears to be exploding on Windows with firefox and librewolf, at least. Could y'all go and check it by clicking the toggle reference button? It's almost perfect on os x firefox, but seems to eat pant from my other devices??..

yeah it's a little janky on librewolf for linux mint. the diamonds are too far apart and "yen" (円) is on the wrong side of 100. the last line of text bleeds into the dot-matrix code as well.

looks a bit off on firefox for windows? the vertical diamonds and 05 overlay the 円 symbols and the bottom row and dashes grid thing at the bottom overlay a bit. diamonds and 100円 overlap on the bottom too unforch

ah, i figured what's going on. i somehow thought that the stock serif and sans-serif fonts are exactly the same across browsers, and that's why i used them. looks like i will have to find and embed the font files. it will make copying the ticket to one's site harder, but oh well. at least it will work

And there it is - i hope it doesn't fall apart on other machines, especially the ticket replica. I took 'shrine' somewhat literally, and the shrine part of the page is a bit empty right now. That's not cause i'm lazy - the place is open for other people to contribute, there's an 'add' button on top-right that tells you how! Otherwise i will slowly bring more stuff on my own

(the ticket did, in fact, explode on its test/grab page. fixed, added another step to the instruction for those who want to take one. I put mine next to the buttons section of my homepage. May Haru's luck shine on all of us)

The page of love and remembrance of Haru Urara is almost done, i'm really happy i found the time to actually pour my soul into it rather than doing it on a timer to not be "too late" or whatever. No such thing as too late with matters like this v_v i will so miss seeing her being her usual nice silly self via martha farm's workers' videos, sigh

started on Haru Urara's shrine.. it's a WIP but had to push it so that i can work on it from another place. It's unlinked, so you probably won't find it. Among other stuff in it, i'm making an HTML/CSS replica of a Haru betting ticket, so that anyone can have one as a lucky charm

The IRL ones were mostly used as protection against traffic accidents, but i give them a broader sense, more like "so that i'm loved and cared for despite not being the ultimate champion".. ya know. like Haru was.

i think this is a good idea. in the coming days, i will set a page up, but shaped more like a literal shrine - and i will explain how to send 'offerings' (pngs of flowers, carrots, etc) so those who want to join me can join. Another thing is Haru's birthday is not too far (Feb 27th), so i will try to run a campaign to donate to horse rescues and retired racehorses for her birthday. Haru would have loved that

Finally reached Certified Over 2000 X Power in Splat3! The placeholder 2000.00's are from my Splat2 glory times... the competition in 3 is much tougher! Or i became much weaker. Either way, TC done, next goal is to drag my Zones above 2000 too!

Now you can change the image size-position and tweak filters individually per pane! I also linked to this thing from the sitemap. It's far from ready, but not as explosive as before. The renderer shits itself half of the times though, so, screenshot your stuff for now i guess

In all honesty, I don't think you should rely on a singular website of being the internet you dreamt of. The internet I dreamt of is being a sprawling chaotic mess of individuality, covered on many corners of the web. That's the web I grew up with. Just like Geocities when it was still alive, it wasn't the only thing on the web. Shit, I remember old Angelfire sites, and self-hosted sites.

@tsugato i don't see logic. NC is a hosting with additional (barely relevant) features. A hosting first and foremost, for people to run their own unique separate sites on. Are you saying i should instead pay for 5 hostings and run 5 different websites for whichever reason? I think a better solution is to at least attempt preventing crawlers from abusing this one hosting, which is supposedly what i pay for.

Neocities is not a "website". it's literally a "hosting" with *a bit* of "social networking" screwed on top of it, which at least i barely use. I see it as a perfect middle ground solution for user-made web, but now the AI bots are making my site unusable. How is this a problrem of using a popular hosting? Diversifying my choices will do jack shit, not like neokweb etc aren't scraped. This crap is everywhere.

I'm not saying you should be running 5 hosts or jumping ship from Neocities. I was just pointing out how the old web was more fragmented, which gave it resilience. I totally get the frustration with the current wave of AI trash scraping everything, we're on the same page there. I just don’t think Neocities alone can carry the dream of a better internet if it gets bottlenecked by this kind of bullshit.
