My gf is a huge Castlevania fan but has some similar hangups with Circle of the Moon, especially with the awkward last third difficulty spike and grind ahaha. I just got the Advance collection recently so I'll end up playing soon too

Enjoy! The switch release doesn't quite fix a ton of the inherent issues but it certainly makes it a bit palatable.

bruh my folder on the computer where most of my wips were stored disappeared 🤨 i'm sure i deleted it by accident and didn't notice, but man.

now that im making strides working on net sorcerer yoruko, there is a dire need to actually make a dev diary page before i make too much progress to document. except that would take away from my development time aaargh

i think it'd be a good resource for yourself to log your goals and work as you can look back on them if needed, of course this can be done without a dev diary

@mr-pibbs-site yeah itd be a nice resource for me, but i think id like for it to also be a nice resource for everyone! or at least it could be kind of neat if the game gets finished to see my thought process behind the stuff i added! back in the day i used to post updates for rpg maker projects every saturday and i guess i miss being able to put screenshots out there so often

I've been feeling my latest reviews have been perhaps too in-depth. Earlier reviews hung around that 1000-1500 word count, whilst the last few have pushed past 2000s? What do you guys think?

talk as much as you want, it's your website, and a lot of these games are old and somewhat obscure nowadays so it's nice to see them get the attention

i think being thorough is pretty much always a positive! if you're worried about length, maybe you could keep an eye out for any redundant points, but i don't think you've had that problem. i love your reviews so longer and more in depth is what i wanna see 🙌

Just read your latest blog post. I think articles like the one you mentioned can definitely be reactionary and alarmist. Was there really a golden age of reading? Or did most people just read pulp lit when they couldn't access a TV? Idk, maybe we are doomed...
I need to make a survivalist fort to protect all my books for when the apocalypse arrives. And guns! I need guns to protect them!

As a kid, the only books I would read were non-fiction, until I got to around 10, or 11, and then I started reading actual novels. Now, I read more novels than non-fiction, but a lot of it is down to what's available - as a kid, there was a lot more natural history books and stuff on animals around that were written for general readers that weren't nature diaries or textbooks - I don't mind text books but it's heavy
reading and I don't like nature diaries because most of the time, they are more about the author than they are about nature. As a result, I end up reading more fiction... As I read a lot of genre fiction, I tend not to judge it - reading is reading and some books are better written than others, but it shouldn't matter as long as people read and they enjoy it.
