Maybe the story mode was a tutorial for people like me: an old people who can't parse a Smash Bros. screen without getting a headache. I have played the Switch one and practiced quite a bit so I could lay the smack down on my nephew, but a slower paced single player mode where I could get used to playing sounds quite welcome!

@vitorio I was tempted to try the fan servers out, but I decided not to as it's technically not official content. If I'm going to review the online aspect of a game I need to take account of things like server latency and overall maintenance, which is nullified if I'm just gonna use unofficial resources.

And it's time for a brand new discography project - and I told you I'd pick an uncool one! It's the funky monks the Red Hot Chili Peppers who, among many other things, were one of the very first bands I fell in love with. And that's a huge reason *why* I wanted to cover them, to explore what their discog means to me in 2026 and to balance the critical and nostalgic sides of myself.

been thinking about giving Void a try. I've heard some stuff about compatibility issues due to the lack of systemd or the fact that some programs have to be compiled from source code due to Void's package manager. Still, if you're still going strong after a few weeks i'll probably give it a try this summer

have they added full-disk encryption to the installer yet? i remember testing and really liking it a few years ago but that put me off using it as my main distro

I will likely eventually post about my experience later on but so far i haven't seen anything missing. Anything i couldnt find i just got on flatpak, you can also double check here https://voidlinux.org/packages/ I want to say it was easier to install then arch, but a little tougher then something like fedora/mint that has a visual GUI.

@just-a-husk i know about that, i meant in the installer. i don't want to have to do it manually. i remember there was an issue or PR about it like 5 years ago but i don't think they've done anything with it to this day
