gedit is more like notepad. i'm looking for something more like wordpad (more word processor than text editor)

I remember Leelah Alcorn from my tumblr days. What happened to her broke my heart. I don't have kids yet (don't know whether it will happen or not) but I loathe when parents aren't accepting of their babies

after Leelah died, i realised just how much of an apathetic, reactionary society this is. even if i could have had kids, I wouldn't have. i couldn't forgive myself for bringing a new human into this terrible world. what i need to do is help the ones who are already here.

anyway, it should have said "my insurance company plays a trick or two in my face", and now it does.

i decided my blog index was too long to be comfortably navigated, even with the month links, so i archived '23 and '24. also added 6 new screenshots to my acnl gamelog page

related to yesterday afternoon's tirade, i decided to put all the music from my 5 itch.io releases onto the LCI minisite. i'm not taking my itch page down, you can still download them and support the car diagnostic fund, but i decided to make the paywall transparent.

"everyone needs to self-promote to make anything at their side-hustle. like make a youtube channel or a tiktok account." welcome to my self-promotion. you find it by being on neocities. if you're not on neocities, then you don't find it. i don't much care whether i make money or not, because this is not a side-hustle. i am allowed to do things for their own sake.

i'm not going to talk down to people who use their neocities account to advertise their businesses or sides, because I also used to advertise my v-o business here. the fact is, i am not here for that anymore, and you should probably have a personal site that isn't devoted to promoting your self-promotions. you'll feel a lot better about yourself if you let yourself be creative for your own sake.

2025 is the year we let ourselves do things without the expectation of monetary gain.

it's so cool to see people making stuff just to make stuff, and putting effort into their passions instead of becoming walking advertisements. there's nothing wrong with promoting yourself, but it gets so dull, and it's easier to be creative when you aren't expecting to be famous for it

this is so true, i feel like lately we've been weirdly conditioned to turn all the things we should be doing for passion or self-fulfillment into some kind of means for monetary gain, as if that's what makes it worthwhile
