I should probably be working on Super Deb, but instead I'm remaking SSN, my custom user account and comment system, from scratch. My excuse is that it will enable people to "cloud save" when I do get back to working on Super Deb. Which I definitely will, as soon as I finish this.

Bloomin heck, just went to work on my tutorial and all I got was a heading. WHERE'S ALL MY WORK GONE AAAAAH. Turns out I'd opened the wrong document. Phew!

I didn't finish the PHP tutorial today, but it is now at the point where your Neocities site requests a page on your 000webhost site, and displays the result in your Neocities page HTML (which is a key part of the tutorial). A demo of it working is also linked to at the end.

This weekend's blog entry will be a tutorial showing how to create a poll in PHP/SQLite, host the PHP/SQL on a free 000webhost.com account, and use it in your Neocities website by sending votes and requesting the vote count with JavaScript. Should be posting Sunday. :)

Rumour has it that Square Enix has FF7R running on their Switch 2 dev kits, and that it might be a launch title. Sounds too good to be true to me... but if it IS true, there goes my only reason to buy a PS5 lol.

Finishing FF8 triggered me into playing FF7. FF8 is a really good game but FF7 is just... better. xD The story is more "epic", levelling/battling isn't a bad thing, it generally has more QOL stuff (e.g. Sense continues showing enemy HP), all of the characters have a more detailed story, it's just better. xD I love both games but FF7 is considered the best for a reason and not just nostalgia/many people's first FF imo

Just revisiting Final Fantasy 8. Despite its flaws (I'll complain about them in an upcoming blog post), when it comes down to it it's still an excellent journey from start to finish (which I will also talk about).
