i just want to make it so only my website can read/write to a database. but you have to wade through the google abyss to get there and i am tired and already mad about unity today i cant be mad about two programming things at one i'll asplode (explode but quirky and hip)

i am like Thiiiiiis close in my head to hitting the next big milestone for warpzone 2.5 (deciding i dont want to call it warpzone 3.0 bc that sounds like nfts) but like every glimmer of productivity i have gets halted by GODDANG WEB CODE SILLINESS!!!!

Oh man, just reading this gives me anxiety, wish I could help, last time I did any auth coding was years ago when php7 just hit. It..it was awful, i hated everything about DB R/W access, making sure php played nice, bleh.

@enflicted oh god i havent even looked into php yet. why are there so many tools in web dev where's my graphically garish all in one editor like unreal engine. how do web developers live like this

an all-in-one solution would be the greatest lol. Web dev can be a huge undertaking, focusing on just one aspect seems to help me a lot. PHP was fun to learn, and code but i eventually stop developing with it. It became to much work. I stick with html/css. a lot less stress. I even tried unreal engine a few years back, i went cross-eyed and closed the software, confused the hell out of me.

can't excuse that. i love neocities. i don't want to ruin neocities or to contribute to drama here. i feel rly bad but i'm trying to not let it get to my head. this is just some silly online stuff but everyone that may have been affected by this deserves an apology from me. i promise i'm not a horrible person, but you are allowed to see me as such, i deserve it. as for this i am not going to go overkill or (2/?)

i don't want to seem patronising, but trust me when i say when i was 13 i struggled w a lot of horrible feelings relating to internet drama and discourse and stuff that goes on online. it's scary when things happen but it will never be the be-all end-all or some kind of 'proof' that you're a bad person if you get tangled up in situations, if that makes sense
