imo i'd recommend making maybe a dropdown menu next to where u have ur fonts? or gather all of those options in a general "website settings" dropdown menu so it's less cluttered?"

ooh general website dropdown might work, i'd have to see how to get it to work with my font swapper so it can work together...

This theme changing script makes it super easy to implement a theme swapper! https://github.com/saadeghi/theme-change

eh, nothing big, i thought i'd add a 'warning'/info box that the site is going thru a giant revamp so updates are sloggy

tbf i left the bold as pink bc i had a theme extension that turned a lot of my italics/bold/deco stuff different colours rather than the 'same text colour but Bolder(tm)'

having the blog hosted on the site definitely has its caveats imo... i think the best perk is just having it be local and also being able to customize the layout to whatever you want
zhongvie

yea...... it's the local and not requiring another site that's appealing, but i also already have copies of all my blog posts in my obsidian since i write them there initially for lazy copy and pasting, and bearblog is already pretty flexible with its CSS decorating.....

sighs 11ty rlly unlocked something wild in me to be able to be ‘lazier’ (aka suffering to set up the bones of layouts and sections then just easily fill them)

sighs i should've logged the CSS for the stupid tab buttons :/ now i gotta re-create it or snag thru old resources

Suppose it's possible there could be one, but I came up with the idea independently because I didn't like any of the preset prompts and needed to work on my OCs, and thought the name was fun

anyway, not totally sure if I remember you specifically from goatlings (kinda stopped socializing in '24 bcuz that fucking "state of goatlings" thread made the bullying that happened 2 me on goatlings-vent mainstream) but i think i've seen ur site before but felt too awkward to message, so nice officially breaching containment!

dang fr??? either way that’s awesome, i gotta poke around ur site cause i love seeing OCs from others!!! and dang yeah, tbf i wasn’t very active in forums after the initial discord i was in got ultra nuked, at most i also offered my thoughts in the state of goatlings from a game designer perspective but otherwise kinda peered from the distance (I used to go by Aid there bahaha, i think most ppl knew me from my auto—

definitely a massive shitshow near the end though, i honestly only knew of goatlings-vent as the site shutdown was nearing, but damn it really brought out the worst in people. i’m still glad to find peeps from there i do recognize from perusing the threads and forums across the years

apparently per goatlings-vent in 2023, i'm the worst fucking person in the world for naming goats after my special interest and comparing fictional lore about two musicians who hate each other to a real occurrence of said (but asking DG what fucking homestuck sign he would be is totally fine). everybody gangsta bout special interests till yours isn't an anime, animal, or video game

then i stopped talking about ronnie onsite / in live chat and just tended to my collection of goats named after the thing i'm autistic about (LIKE EVERY OTHER GODDAMNED USER ON THE SITE), and took down my loosely FIR-inspired designs... and still got everything i did interpreted in bad faith! then the same goddamned people decided to start complaining about literally everything onsite and became the dominant party

https://draggianuniverse.neocities.org/goatlings (the story in full basically; how iced out got me cancelled is on /goatlings_designs. lesson here is to not do the right thing and credit ur inspirations, although folks also thought emo kid was ronnie despite looking nothing like him so...)

oh, also, liking a band makes my trans pride AD in bad faith which i can only read as "you are not validly trans". tbh, if i could swear on goatlings, I'd have renamed my design thread "shitty designs by a disgusting person" (how one venter described transcendent. unsure how a special interest in a band that i don't support makes me a disgusting person but w/e)

i was on state of goatlings about gameplay stuff for a while, then stopped because it all became problematicism bullshit -- if everything is disgusting, no one is, and i'm not gonna believe your claims of actual problems if you've got no citation and it's coming from the same blog as Having A Non-Stereotypical Special Interest Makes You Evil

fucking utterly wild, but unfortunately having seen how vitriolic people are over utterly benin things that shouldn't even bother them or sticking their nose into other ppl's interests, not surprised :(

it's easier to put the burden onto the user rather than attempt to hold giant multinational social media companies accountable for anything, for which a $15 million fine for exposing children to whatever type of objectionable content is just the cost of doing business.

I feel much the same way. It's disheartening to see how young people are being shut out from spaces. It's bad enough that teens can't hardly exist in public without grouchy adults trying to run them off, but governments and corpos are doing the same thing online too!

We need third spaces! We need people to connect with! Not just under-16s but all of us! and this legislative push will make that harder for everyone. Also interesting how abusers usually focus on isolating their targets. almost like a lot of the people spearheading this stuff *are* dangerous abusive people

unfortunately easier, and i remember reading discussions where people said social medias would be happy to have reasons to farm even more data to sell which like. i wouldn’t put it past them either tbf

fr though!!! in terms of third spaces anyway. it’s why i’m saying it feels like at this rate we might return back to forums/more niche site days being the norm vs being huddled into a few social medias (but the issue is being so fractured and finding those places)
yaaay it works, its a lil corner popout now :3 https://i.ibb.co/6Jy2V4sL/image.png
WAHHH IT'S LOOKIN GOOD...
thank u...... kinda glad my existing CSS wasnt too bad to migrate into a 'get shoved in a corner and press button to appear'
