having the blog hosted on the site definitely has its caveats imo... i think the best perk is just having it be local and also being able to customize the layout to whatever you want

yea...... it's the local and not requiring another site that's appealing, but i also already have copies of all my blog posts in my obsidian since i write them there initially for lazy copy and pasting, and bearblog is already pretty flexible with its CSS decorating.....

apparently per goatlings-vent in 2023, i'm the worst fucking person in the world for naming goats after my special interest and comparing fictional lore about two musicians who hate each other to a real occurrence of said (but asking DG what fucking homestuck sign he would be is totally fine). everybody gangsta bout special interests till yours isn't an anime, animal, or video game

then i stopped talking about ronnie onsite / in live chat and just tended to my collection of goats named after the thing i'm autistic about (LIKE EVERY OTHER GODDAMNED USER ON THE SITE), and took down my loosely FIR-inspired designs... and still got everything i did interpreted in bad faith! then the same goddamned people decided to start complaining about literally everything onsite and became the dominant party

I feel much the same way. It's disheartening to see how young people are being shut out from spaces. It's bad enough that teens can't hardly exist in public without grouchy adults trying to run them off, but governments and corpos are doing the same thing online too!

We need third spaces! We need people to connect with! Not just under-16s but all of us! and this legislative push will make that harder for everyone. Also interesting how abusers usually focus on isolating their targets. almost like a lot of the people spearheading this stuff *are* dangerous abusive people

unfortunately easier, and i remember reading discussions where people said social medias would be happy to have reasons to farm even more data to sell which like. i wouldn’t put it past them either tbf

No... unfortunately I can't find the website :') I remember being on it when I was first looking at Neocities sites for inspo and reference, but I only vaguely remember its appearance and if they changed the layout there's no way I'm ever gonna find it again :'D
