i enjoy the emphasis as my cursor rolls over. definitely a quote that i keep in my mind during life's intensities. beautiful page
yay!! i'm happy to hear that my code was useful! i love the snowy plover on your index page also :-)
omg i just want to say that i spent so much time playing with the weird web pages on your site lol thank you for that! it is all so inspiring tbh
omg i did something like this (the cell culture protocol) for class this semester... we were studying the cell cycle using a FUCCI system!!! pretty pages as always!!!
me too, i loved everything from the creative storytelling and layout, to the insights of your life at the lab. Keep up the good work :)
I absolutely LOVE this! I also culture cells for my research and this is such a fun resource to explain the process to others! ^_^
the style of this does things to my brain, i really like it :] (its also very interesting)
this is so amazing, my favorite details are the scrollable list and the little 'look closer' bit. this was nice to clue me in on this sorta research! gotta try this decker program myself
this is incredible. i also do cancer cell culture and you captured the balance of routine and reverence perfectly. i've been doing this for years and still feel the awe you describe when looking into the microscope. also love seeing science through an artistic lens like this
The 45 days non-log in is a bit of a pain... I play LOTRO and there was a time a few years ago where I wasn't able to download the game because the internet was so slow. It was during Covid, when most companies seemed to let everything go to hell, so I was out of the game for months. LOTRO let you keep housing as long as you pay upkeep for it and fortunately I had paid up keep for my standard house and I had an -
active subscription for three months so my premium houses were safe. You get 'locked out' for a while before you lose the house, too. When I got back into the game, I was able to salvage the original house and transfer to a new premium house which I liked better. I would have been gutted if I'd lost them. 45 days is wild.
it isn't a great system, but i'm not too worried about it for myself. i don't think i've gone more than 45 days without playing for two or three years (maybe longer?)
the housing demolition timer gets paused too. in 2020, it was paused from march to december, so no one lost their house that year. i didn't get into it in the post, but the reason i got a house this round was because the demo timer for north american servers (started in january in response to the wildfires in California) recently got lifted and hundreds of plots became available at once
demo timer *pause got lifted
yaaaay, congrats ribose ^^ finally a space for yourself, and what a view
