2025.08.14 // Sometimes a week of learning about 1980s Canadian politics is necessary for some hyperdiagetic reason or other. 2032 looms over me like a Burtonian cliff.
Hopefully no one will protest if I fill the time, between highlighting and labelling print-out maps of British Columbia, or studying the history of the Tacoma General Hospital, to give one-line reviews of what else I've been reading.
Gravity's Rainbow (Pynchon) -- will eschew review as it was the reason I finally started writing this book in the first place. "He got away with that??" as an excellent reason to stop burying your story in your head.

House of Leaves (Danielewski) -- truly a beautiful love story.
Area X trilogy (VanderMeer) -- almost done with the last book. Not as scary as I'd hoped. Too many adjectives.
Reading next... My Year of Rest and Relaxation (Moshfegh), that is, if my bookstore ever gets it in stock.
