How do you feel about old (1970s-1990s) versus new (2010s) romantic-comedy anime?
I personally prefer older stuff like Maison Ikkoku, since a lot of time the characters in a lot of the newer romantic comedies (I include Nagatoro and Komi in this one) tend to have a weird gimmick that usually does not sit with me too well, or has annoying characters (though I can see how some older characters can be seen as annoying).
This is totally unrelated to what you’re saying, but I like the softer art style and time capsule fashion in older stuff better. Boring as this is to consider, I think it’s less visually fun when the outfits lean harder on all school uniforms all the time, so while the gimmicky characters don’t bother me- I’m reading and enjoying Komi well enough now- I find the older Rumiko Takahashi type stuff especially more
IDK, TBH. Not a *huge* anime guy, have seen and love the typicals and a couple of outlyers, but take notes on your reviews for things to check out.

stylish. (Curses, text limit!!)
Women were in the correct place in 70s-90s
