I really liked how honest your maniesto was. I do kind of disagree with the old web revival thing, though. I don't think these people are trying to bring it back, I think they're just creating a space for themselves and potential people who want out of social media to just hang out and interact the way they want to, a little community. I can't disagree with them for making the change they want to see

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I absolutely love your website too, the color scheme reminds me of my very first site it's crazy.. ALSO LOVE THE GLOSSY BUTTONS... I definitely feel the same about valuing the same things, we just went about it in different ways! I kind of wanted my page to look like some random DSi app with the little clock and pixelated text.. i need to add more random gizmos

Why does old css code occasionally just...stick? I just overhauled the website and completely changed the stylesheet. The old code does not exist here anymore. And yet the website seems convinced that it does. You can't do this to me

We're good now ^_^ Website's been overhauled and we've gone from curseofcrows ---> ufo5. Hopefully I will never feel the urge to change the url again

We do have the same opinion on the topic then. In general, over the course of the years spent here, I have noticed the occasional veiled elitism regarding this matter, looking down upon whoever still uses social media and all; I think everyone should indulge in self-expression and find community in non-corp spaces
In general, as someone who started browsing "late", I find it odd to see people with even less internet "experience" than me saying they prefer the old web, when they couldn't witness it (for the best, maybe). Is it a matter of mere aesthetic values? Is it a desire to build a third system? I am very curious about this.
Honestly, a lot is probably aesthetic values, I guess. I'm not really sure. There are a lot of people who want to seem like OGs to fit into a group while kind of just sporting a surface level aesthetic of said thing. But also I guess there's nothing wrong with loving things you weren't here for. And maybe they do think the old way has potential! who knows
