i love the zone! you have great ideas. i am not the best with web matters but thinking about a communal online space makes my mind jump first to minecraft servers - which is funny because i haven't played minecraft in years!

and while 'nature is not discrete and designed' is certainly true, it might be interesting to note that ecosystems often thrive when they are stewarded as opposed to solely 'wild' ones. the forests of what we now call the americas were often mistaken by colonizers to be a purely wild, virgin landscape, when that is ofc untrue. 'forest gardens' and land that was stewarded can support more diversity than nature alone.

@Pleuro Stewarded ecosystems don't always have more diversity than wild ones. Terrestrail North America is a really unique case since most of the megafauna that maintained the ecosystem were wiped out and humans had to take over some of the roles. Context is really important when interpreting ecosystems.

you're constantly inspiring me to push myself to make my website more aligned to a visual language that i yearn to achieve, but often times feel like i'm not skilled enough to try. i love this mind map you've created (i also love being nosy but i feel like that's a lot of us on here) and it makes me want to try and figure out how to build my own!!

sorry for replying so late!! i got really swamped by work this week ;u; @pleurodelinae @murid tysm for reading / building on my thoughts! i think this is exactly what i envisioned as "bouncing ideas off" and this takes my brain to new places: (generalizing) i can def see how stewardship can nurture certain ecosystems, like on the web some spaces benefit from having admins to host events or create prompts or mod

i feel like being nosy and nosied(???) is part of the neocities experience? ie. somehow there's more weight to my words here than sitting in a secret diary just by the fact other people can read them. my therapist was telling me that i desire to be seen and/or understood so that's probably that. please feel free to be nosy here :D

hey! i love your site. i'm particularly interested in your birthday party site and what you wrote about it. i have an online music/movie social space (tinybird dot zone) andlately i'm wondering about ways to make persistent/asynchronous spaces that are more personal than a discord/forum/social media/etc. i thought your birthday site was an interesting example in that regard! p.s loved the form of shortly briefly

hi candle! thanks sm for visiting and for the kind words ;u; i feel my birthday website was a rudimentary proof-of-concept and its missing a lot, but i'm glad you found it interesting! i checked out tinybird dot zone and i really like the custom avatars/interactivity aspect! interested to see how you cultivate it, i'm constantly thinking abt alternatives to social media :)

Your website is so cool! I'm seriously impressed, it's awesome. I really love the angled scroolbar+screen on the 2DS page (and on the christmas one?), I've never seen the perspective property before so it was cool getting to read about it. The design is so pleasing too. Cool :D:D:D
