I'm not in a good mood today. I ordered some compost and large planters about three weeks ago and they've not arrived yet. It's getting on my nerves because the company is very bad at communicating with their customers and the plants I need them for are quite special. The seeds came with our dog's ashes when we picked them up so they need planting more than anything else. I can't just plant them in the ground -

the cat will break and kill them if they aren't up against the wall. (I know this because I tried growing similiar plants a few years back and that happened.) It's not like I can go out to the shops and fetch these things myself like I would normally do!

Got quite a few things done today, but I really wish that I could concentrate on doing more writing for the site. At the moment, my concentration for it has gone.

My sister in law has got fed up with their dogs tail(rottweiler lab mix) knocking her plants leaves(an sometimes the entire plant to the foor)that she turned her ferret cage that hasnt seen use in quite sometime into a plant 'safe house' LOL

I am continously amazed that some people are still more bothered about petty, frivolous things that the virus has stopped them from doing than being worried about people's health.

Tomorrow the bookcases will (hopefully!) be going up! I will be glad when it's done because it's one more step to sorting the flat out. Sorry about the lack of site updates. While the weather is like this, and my artritis isn't playing up, I need to take advantage of it.

Sometimes, I don't think that people get that half of Tolkien's writing was literally pro-nature even before nature conservation became a thing to be concerned about...

It's been a busy week. How is everyone? I've been sorting out the problem bits in the hallway and doing quite a bit of sewing. Next week, we might be getting a shed if it is in good order. Depending on how it is, I might turn it into my craft space, but not if it's leaking. (However, it will be useful because I hope to do some more decorating this summer and need a place to store stuff while I do it.)

Had a very busy day today. Got some gardening done. Painted some furniture (They aren't finished yet, however. I need to sand them down and do another coat on one of them. The paint is lumpy in places.) And finished a paws cross stitch pic. Need to finish it properly, but got the cross stitching done.

I've got a good photo now of the silk shading fox (the original was badly blurred and you couldn't see any of the detail in it.) So, I'll probably do the first silk shading page tomorrow. I am pleased with how it's turned out as it is my first proper go at it. Usually, I don't like sewing on non aida/evenweave fabric.

I'm having to recharge the camera again. It's annoying and doesn't seem to hold the charge for very long, even when it's turned off!

Not looking forward to tomorrow, as we'll be having to do the food shopping. Can't get anything right now from supermarket websites and even a lot of independant businesses aren't delivering. Don't even know what we'll get, if anything. Don't want to go on the buses because I don't know how full they'll be.

Here's the thing - people can't get food deleivered because everything is booked solid. Doesn't even matter if you're riddled with medical condictions or elderly because there is no filter on any of them. (Heck, folks should be worried about their babies and little ones if they have them, too) but fools are still crying that they can't go to COMIC CON! and similiar to dress up in costumes and sell art.

In addtion, people have to make the agonising decision on whether to attend funerals or not because they have medical condictions that make them vulnerable, in Spain, a lot of elderly were left to die in care homes because the staff abandoned them, folks get robbed of their food purchases, etc, etc, etc...

Sometimes, I get frustrated at 'nerds' and 'geeks' because they are supposed to be intelligent but are acting like spoiled children because they can't go to cons.

You have to keep in mind a lot folks upset about that are going to be teenagers, immature folks, mostly! Or folks who don’t have much else to look forward to, so maybe this was their place of comfort? Also, nerds and geeks are different, nerds are more into sciences, geeks could generally just have an uncool/unpopular hobby, not necessarily clever, just offbeat.

I haven’t encountered those, personally! I only saw some young people who want to die and don’t care about other people and some very old conservative types grumpy about all this over “just a flu”

Some people think the nerd/geek thing is interchangeable so I know the difference. When I was that age, being a nerd or geek meant that you had to hide what you liked because there were a lot of bullies around who would make fun of it. (Didn't matter if it was sci-fi/fantasy or science that you were interested in you had to hide it.)

When I was at uni, I discovered another type of nerd/geek and that was the ones who were into it because it suddenly became fashionable. (Cosplay, gaming consoles, munchkin, and anime, to some extent) and it is those who don't seem to be taking it very well. They need to realise that there are more important things and you come across it just because you have those interests.

Think I might end up just working on the crafting site for a while. Sewing, etc, seems to be the only thing I can concentrate on right now, other than playing lotro.
