I have found digital versions of Small Favour and Turncoat that I can borrow. (Will put the link up to the library), but I hate reading on screen, especially long stories so I don't know how far I'll get into it. They have to preserve copyright, I suppose, so digital books aren't as comfortable to read as you'd like them to be.

One of the most irritating things about the lockdown I've found is that you can't replace stuff you need replacing if they get broken, etc, ether because nothing is in stock, they won't deliver it, you can't go out to get it or /if/ you can get it, you have to get it from some credit catalogue company and end up owing them more for things that should have been cheap.

There were nemes on facebook in March/April where folks had used the the time off work to do up their house because they didn't have time to do it before. Because of this problem, every home will end up looking like a shack.

One of the things about the old web (at least, that period of time when forums were THE THING, instead of social media like facebook, twitter, myspace, etc...), it was a lot easier to make friends over the internet because the forums created a social /and/ creative place to be. On the right forums you could share your webpages, post your creations and discuss things. It did help that the forums were usually based

around a subject (say, pets) or a fandom (like Star Wars, which would sometimes also attract other fandoms in similar genres.) It's harder now to find those communities. Social media at best has created a monoculture, and at worst a place for trolls and bullies to get upset

I decided to change the index page because I thought that people won't know about the other mini sites. When I made the account, I was quite active on my paid domain and hosting but it was getting full, so I decided to make Bright Eyes here (and to try the host out.) Since then, I got fed up of the paid site always getting the service interrupted and since moving here, I've become more productive at making content

again because I no longer got distracted with fancy packages like wordpress, mybb, simple machines, etc. There is more than just Bright Eyes here, though if the home page only goes to that, it is easy for people to miss things. I hope to move all the movable stuff here eventually and drop the paid hosting altogether. (Of course, if this starts getting full, I'll become a supporter here. I just don't have the money

There is another anthology in Tanya Huff's Blood series. I had to check it out to make sure that the e-book wasn't just a re-issue of Blood Bank, and fortunately, it is not! So, I shall be getting that next week.

Of all the series I have listed, the Otherworld is probably the most complicated - novels, e-books, anthologies, web fiction (yep, I need to add those...), graphic novels, special editions... I've ignored most of the e-books and just listed the printed anthologies for simplicity. When I get around to working on the anthologies, I'll list the stories in them.

I ordered the first book in Mike Carey's Felix Castor series. If I like 'em, they'll be showcased on Mean Streets, too. There are some series which I liked but stopped reading because there were some things I found irritating with them. I don't know if I should give them a try again, or leave them, or if I should link to the authors' websites.

I read a tweet today from someone who has been complaining for months that they will be seriously ill if they get Covid-19 and are now saying that they don't want the vaccine because a nurse who had it contracted Covid-19 shortly after having it. (The nurse hadn't had the 2nd dose, like she should have because the UK government are being wankers over it.) But you just can't please some folks.
