I remember sending Neocities an e-mail earlier this year because whenever I upload via WebDAV, I get errors for uploading certain things even though they show up fine on the 'site........... it's weird But they haven't gotten back to me? .......Guess I'll try sending them mail again, but I did give them the right address................ Maybe it's one of those times I get the email address wrong for zero reason

So, I got distracted deep diving on the Wayback Machine for old assets and pages from Emerald Guardian, I got a good chuck of assets then I went looking for "new" abandoned stuff to preserve here. I've linked back all my sources. If it's a passable idea to continue doing that, I will. :)

There's 'sites that still have AOL instant messenger icons ONLINE?! I'm...... surprised? I love that time of the web where graphic design was special when you found it? Because there were Geocities sites where people would use MS Paint because that's all they had or knew of..... don't get me wrong, that has it's own charm too. — graphic design programs are so common and there's free ones out there! But I love when people made their graphic design was more detailed and even over-exaggerated around this time........ I'm glad you're keeping that alive :)

Ikr?! I was quite surprised myself to find an AIM icon site active. I still use MS Paint for a majority of what I do (Pixel art) and GIMP for the rest. But back in 2005 I did love seeing anime layouts with minimized style and fancy fonts. It was like they were everywhere and now I can't find a single one with similar style. A lot of stuff from the "old web" I loved seems to be lost in the void and that's a big part -

Really basic stuff, links and images everywhere on the page. Lots of GIFs. Every Sonic OC were just recolors not even an edit at that point. It's cute to see how that has evolved.

Is it okay if you send a couple hyperlinks to ones you know? I'd like to see them, I'm curious! I think it's sad that I don't see certain design that much anymore. As much as I love diving into older 'sites, I think there's really cool designs from that time. But I don't think it *doesn't* exist anymore, it's just less common....... I feel people will come back to it because design is timeless —

I'm thankful you care about things like this, I'm excited to see your collection grow over time. I want to figure out a page with .gifs 'n graphix eventually, I did have one before but....... I'm trying to figure out where I want to put it, and that it was mixed in with a few of my own gifs, and ones from Sonic games, and ones by others

Really thinking of making an online HTML day get-together, planning on it for either August 7th or the 8th I could be on either days, 10:30 AM — 3:00 PM or 6:30 PM — 9:00 PM (MDT)...... though that might depend I want to see what days and times are best for you all!

HTML day is coming real soon (August 8)! https://2026.html.energy As much as I'd like to go out somewhere, I don't know if I'm the situation of where I could do that at least right now........ and that there's no events in my area anyway :( Was wondering if there's any online get-togethers out there? And if not, I was thinking of maybe even starting one? Though, I don't really know where I could host one

I'm thinking of having a call on a place like Discord, or either Fluxer http://fluxer.app (which is similar) of where we all could talk together, show what we're coding or even drawing! I'd like to get to know people on here more, I just think having something like this would help us express ourselves...... I think it'd be a cool creative, safe space?

I was looking myself and haven't seen anything near me this year either unfortunately... I know the idea is "if you want smth in your area you should organize it!" esp when it's smth small like just coding together in a library or park, but I would worry if anyone would bother showing up in my area, haha;; but organizing one yourself sounds like a great idea! :D
