I've noticed a fair number of people tend to have some sort of "ENTER" page on the front of their blog. is this an aesthetic choice or is there a practical reason behind it that I'm missing? should I be doing this? 🤔

Not really? unless your telling the young users that your content is 18+ However its just a aesthetic design

Hmm I do swear a bit in my blog entries so I guess I need to put a warning *somewhere*. I just thought that maybe it was something done to combat scraping or something like that, idk. Though I'm not sure how that would have worked. 🥴

I think it's just aesthetic choice though my immediate thoughts go to how, generally, you can't play sound on a webpage without user interaction first. Though, I don't think that's why people do it.

tldr kyle drake (neocities creator) made a post about how AI's really real impact on the world is actually an exaggeration and openly admitted to liking AI art so people are migrating primarily to nekoweb (which is anti-AI)

it was made slightly over a year ago so idk if his stance has changed but for me (as an artist) i'm upset regardless and i plan to switch hosts

After calming down from hearing yesterday's news, I decided that I won't be leaving Neocities as I'm proud of my website here and will continue updating it until the end of time. I don't blame you for feeling that way ^^ I made a Nekoweb account awhile back, but I'm currently using it for a different purpose T__T. I do like their dashboard layout, but I like how the community is set up here.

people basically found this article by neocities’ creator https://kyledrake.com/writings/ai where he mentions supporting ai generated art and people are disappointed, that’s pretty much it (shifting to nekoweb is practically a one step process so everybody’s doing that)
